1. Install the app
Open the App Store in your dashboard and install Canteen & feeding cards. Every learner now has a card at GHS 0.
2. Give the canteen staff a sign-in
In Staff, add each canteen worker with their phone number and pick the Canteen staff job, then press Allow canteen sign-in. They sign in to the canteen portal with their phone and a texted code, and never see the school office.
3. Set the menu
In the canteen portal, open Menu and add what the canteen sells with prices. They become buttons at the till.
4. Let parents top up
With online payments on, parents top up in the parent app or portal by MoMo or card. Parents who pay cash can top up at the office.
5. Serve
At the till, type the learner’s name or scan their ID card, tap the items and charge. A card can’t go below zero, and parents can set a daily limit.
6. Keep an eye on it
The office sees every card balance and every sale under Canteen & feeding cards, and the day’s canteen takings appear in Money in & out next to fees and expenses. Parents get one text when a card drops below their chosen level.
